David Wunsch, Director and State Geologist of the Delaware Geological Survey participated at GSA Annual Meeting

Geological Society of America (GSA) Annual Meeting – Denver, CO

David Wunsch participated in a short course co-sponsored by GSA and the American Geosciences Institute titled: “Preparing for a Career in the Geosciences”.

Wunsch made a presentation regarding careers in hydrogeology, with emphasis in landing careers in government, along with personal and professional career insights, special skills needed, and the outlook for future employment. Wunsch then served on a panel with other presenters and answered questions from student and faculty in attendance.

The Geological Society of America (GSA) released a Critical Issues Paper on induced seismicity

David R. Wunsch, Delaware’s State Geologist and Director of the Delaware Geological Survey, is a member of the GSA Public Policy Committee and lead author and chairman of the committee tasked with preparing the critical issues paper. Application of 3-D Aquifer Mapping to Analysis of Groundwater Withdrawals by Source in the Delaware Coastal Plain

Peter P. McLaughlin, Jr., Senior Scientist at the Delaware Geological Survey, gave a presentation on October 18 at the 2014 Geological Society of America Annual Meeting in Vancouver, Canada entitled "Application of 3-D Aquifer Mapping to Analysis of Groundwater Withdrawals by Source in the Delaware Coastal Plain," coauthored with Jaime L. Tomlinson and Amanda K. Lawson.

Stratigraphic, Hydrologic, and Climatic Influences on the Formation and Spatial Distribution of Carolina Bays in Central Delaware

Jaime L. Tomlinson and Kelvin W. Ramsey of the Delaware Geological Survey presented a poster titled "Stratigraphic, Hydrologic, and Climatic Influences on the Formation and Spatial Distribution of Carolina Bays in Central Delaware" at the 49th annual meeting of the Northeastern Section of the Geological Society of America, in Lancaster PA, on March 23-25.
