EXPERTISE
Lillian T. Wang joined the Delaware Geological Survey (DGS) in 1999. She was the first professional staff member hired to work outside the field of geology. Ms. Wang is a Certified Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Professional (GISP) as established by the GIS Certification Institute. Ms. Wang's duties include creating, acquiring, analyzing and managing GIS data in order to produce publication-quality map products, illustrations and data reports. She assists staff in research and service related to geology, hydrogeology, geophysics, geologic hazards and assists staff in preparation of research proposals.
Ms. Wang's other tasks include spatial analysis and digital image processing. She identifies the nature/source of GIS related problems and implements changes necessary to achieve goals which have an impact on unit. Ms. Wang maintains knowledge of state-of-the-art GIS computing technology and builds upon ideas of colleagues to improve GIS capabilities and efficiency.
