John H. Talley

John H. Talley is director of the Delaware Geological Survey and state geologist. He has been with the Survey since 1972. His primary responsibilities prior to serving as Associate Director and Director were in the fields of Hydrogeology, Environmental Geology, Stratigraphy, and Technology Transfer.

Mr. Talley is a licensed geologist in Delaware and Pennsylvania, and a Certified Professional Geologist of the American Institute of Professional Geologists. He has served on dozens of boards, committees, and task forces for state, municipal, university, and federal agencies, and professional organizations. Mr. Talley is a member of the Association of Ground Water Scientists and Engineers, American Association of Petroleum Geologists, and the American Institute of Professional Geologists. He served both as professional member and president of the Delaware State Board of Professional Geologists.

Mr. Talley has a secondary appointment as Professor in the College of Marine and Earth Studies.
